About

What we do

StatsHomies was started by three friends who love sports and wanted to dig deeper. Only one has a formal statistical background, but they all know sports well enough to have in-depth discussions about the cutting edge of analytical methods and how to best apply those to everyone's favorite teams and players.

The primary ethos of StatsHomies is that the average sports fan is smart enough to understand advanced statistics when it comes to their favorite team. We try to predictively model, interpret, and present the results of statistical analysis so that the average fan can have just as much insight as the front office executive (who also does not have a statistical background).

Meet the Homies

Friends since college, occasional roommates, the three amigos as it were.

Chief statistician

Jonah Vega-Reid

The only one with a relevant degree (MPH-biostatistics), Jonah handles the analysis and data entry. Also, he clearly peaked in high school.

Athletic phenom

Nikki Nedza

By far the most accomplished athlete of the bunch, and perhaps the funniest. Nikki enjoys cheering the Cardinals on, loss after loss, as well as every other team from Arizona. She is a true homer.

Hot take machine

Greg Honiotes

Greg is everyone's favorite Bears fan, which isn't saying much. Professionally an urban planner, Greg loves watching football and complaining about refs.
